Inés González Ortega Delivers the Best Cantabrian Performance at the 2026 Spanish U-18 Women’s Championship

Cantabrian players Inés González Ortega, María Martínez Navarro, and Lucía González Ortega competed from March 19 to 22 at the Spanish U-18 Women’s Championship, held at the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina.

The best performance among the Cantabrian representatives was delivered by Inés González Ortega, who made the cut after the first two rounds and completed all four days of competition. Inés finished the championship in 34th place with a total of 316 strokes (+28), posting rounds of 78, 78, 81, and 79 in a tournament marked by the high level of Spain’s top young players.

Meanwhile, Lucía González Ortega and María Martínez Navarro did not manage to make the cut after the second round, missing out on the final rounds of the championship.

The tournament brought together some of the best U-18 female golfers in Spain on a challenging course, where consistency across all four rounds was key to the final standings.

The participation of the three Cantabrian players in an event of this level represents an important competitive experience within the national calendar.
