Inés González Ortega Triumphs at the VIII Memorial Celia Barquín Arozamena

Cantabrian golfer Inés González Ortega delivered an outstanding performance to claim victory at the VIII Memorial Celia Barquín Arozamena – Copa Principado de Asturias Femenina 2025, held at RCG La Barganiza, finishing with a total of 219 strokes (72+74+73).

The competition began with a very tight first round, in which Inés González Ortega posted a solid 72, placing her in second position, only behind provisional leader Clara Valls Alesanco, who shot 70. From the start, the Cantabrian player showed consistent play, staying in contention for the title throughout the round.

On the second day, Inés once again demonstrated her excellent form, carding 74 strokes to reach the top of the leaderboard, tied with Clara Valls Alesanco (70+76) with a total of 146 strokes after 36 holes. Her consistency proved decisive, keeping all options open for the final round.

In the decisive round, Inés completed the tournament with an excellent 73, achieving a cumulative 219 strokes to secure the title convincingly. The podium was completed by Cristina García González, who finished second with 221 strokes, and a three-way tie for third between María Francisca Salgado, Aroa González Hernández, and Clara Valls Alesanco, all with 223 strokes.
