Recognition for José Antonio Salas by the Regional Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport

The Regional Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sport, Luis Martínez Abad, congratulated athletes from Cantabria for their achievements in the Spanish Championships in golf, rowing, judo, and karate, thanking them for “bringing the name of Cantabria to the highest level in each of the competitions in which you take part.”

In this regard, he expressed the regional government’s pride in seeing Cantabrian athletes recognized in the various disciplines in which they compete.

He also stated that the participation of any athlete in a national or international championship, whether or not they win a title, “is a triumph for the athlete and for Cantabrian sport as a whole.”

During a reception held on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 17, Minister Luis Martínez Abad, accompanied by the Director General of Sports, Susana Ruiz, welcomed Cantabrian athletes at the María Blanchard Hall of the Palace of Festivals, in recognition of their success in various Spanish Championships. He once again thanked them for “bringing the name of Cantabria to the highest level in each competition you participate in.”

Among those honored was golfer José Antonio Salas López, recognized for his recent runner-up finish in the Spanish Under-16 Championship, held at Real Golf de La Coruña.
