Juan Postigo begins the year 2023 with the victory of his first G4D Tour title in Abu Dhabi

This week the Hero Cup was held in Abu Dhabi, an event on the G4D (Golf for the disabled) Tour.

Juan Postigo, the 27-year-old player from Cantabria, declared victory after 2 days of competition and closing a final round of 72 shots that gave him a two-shot advantage against the Canadian, Kurtis Barkley and three against the Irishman, Brendan Lawlor.

Postigo had 2 birdies on the first nine holes and with a birdie and five consecutive pars on the next 9, he managed to tee off the 18th hole with a 3-shot lead. After making an incredible bogey, Juan Postigo secured the victory of his first title in Abu Dhabi.

Thanks to this victory, Postigo rises to the top of the G4D Order of Merit, the ranking that will crown the best player on the G4D Tour at the end of the year.

Juan Postigo, who started playing golf at the age of 12, was born without much of his right leg and without a knee. The Cantabrian golfer, who also plays without a prosthesis, has reached number three in the world ranking of golfers with disabilities.

At Golf Santa Marina we have had the pleasure of having this great player training several times on our course.

“I feel great,” Postigo said after his victory. “Last year I played pretty good golf all over the world, but the victory did not come. It is the best way to start 2023 and we hope that many more will come ”, he added.
