Golf Santa Marina
The Santa Marina golf course was inaugurated in 2001, having been designed and whose construction was directed by the unforgettable Severiano Ballesteros, a golf legend during the second half of the 20th century, born in Cantabria and a lover of this land. It was he who knew how to fit a golf course of international level and quality in such a spectacular and demanding orography as the one we have in Santa Marina.
The most difficult part of the course are holes 4, 5 and 6, to be compared with the famouse “Amen Corner”. If you get through these holes, you’ll make it through to the end – Seve Ballesteros
ENVIRONMENT
Although Cantabria is a region which covers only 5,300 kilometres, curiously, it has a variety of types of climate, fauna and vegetation normally found in a large region.
There is a rich range of fauna and flora. The last remaining refuges of bears, wolves and royal eagles are to be found here, especially in the Saja and Picos de Europa reserves. This contrasts with the coast, with beautiful bays and romantic fishing villages. In the interior, mountain landscapes abound, with beautiful valleys.
